Male inmate

I have been in prison for 16 years.

I have gone through the whole process from AT (awaiting trial), to being condemned for life. I have also been in other prisons, it hasn’t been a good experience.

I had a lawyer who represented me in court, but he did something really bad.Unknown to me, my lawyer bargained with the complainant and judge against me.

Well..I am grateful for life. This could be God’s way of keeping me, if not for this situation I might have been dead now.

I was a student at the polytechnic Ibadan but I dropped out due to crime.

The prison is peaceful and there is cooperation between inmates and the warders. We are also given some privileges. But it is still a prison.

Initially I didn’t want to. I have been asked by my warder before and even though he wrote my name, I wasn’t going to attend classes. But I have been inspired from this program and I have decided to register.
